Venetia is one of those restaurants that benefits from a healthy dose of cultural blending – in this case authentic Italian cuisine coupled with the best of some fantastic local bounty. Naturally, given the location of this smart and stylish small hotel there is an emphasis on seafood and that manifest itself in dishes like a starter of Cardigan Bay seared scallops, Parma ham, rocket, Pecorino and lemon olive oil or imaginative pasta dishes such as Aberdaron crab linguine, chilli, herbs, tomato, olive oil and garlic. The quality of local meat is not ignored though and the menu has featured such dishes as braised Welsh lamb shank with honey glazed parsnip puree and rosemary garlic gravy.
This is relaxed, accomplished cooking carried out with real passion and knowledge by chef/proprietor Marco Filippi and his team and an absolute treat for anyone exploring the special beauty of the gorgeous Llyn Peninsula.
