The historic village of Grosmont, in the heart of rural Monmouthshire, holds at its centre the charming grade II listed building called Gentle Jane, now sympathetically resored and the home of a very special tea room.  Linger an hour or two and treat your tastes buds to food as fresh and natural as the surrounding countryside.

Leaf tea from Assam and Darjeeling, green and fermented teas from China and mint tea from Egypt are just some of the teas waiting for you.  The food is somewhat more Welsh, being made from scratch on site from seasonal and local produce.  Here you won't find strawberries or asparagus in the depth of winter, but you will find the freshest and most delicious food on offer in Wales.

Home-made jams complement wholesome bread baked in the same kitchen.  Box Farm eggs, organic stone-ground flour and Bower Farm milk and cream are the basics that ensure the great taste of Gentle Jane's cakes.
