The tiny cathedral city of St David’s may be blessed spiritually but it isn’t awash with places to rest your head. So it’s especially good to welcome The Grove into membership. This recently renovated, welcoming small hotel has a fresh spring in its step. There are - quite apart from its rarity value - many reasons to stay.
The tastefully decorated bedrooms come complete with plasma TVs and WiFi, and the choice of food ranges from great-value bar menus to fine dining. Your hosts Barry and Janette White have made quite a name for themselves.
The Grove is a very green place, having won the Welsh Assembly Government’s Climate Change Pub Challenge (initiatives include working with local children in the beautifully landscaped walled garden). It’s located opposite the new visitor centre and gallery close to town, with private car parking (another St David’s rarity).
