Aberdovey, seaside town that it is, might seem like a summer location, but Llety Bodfor might make you think differently about that. It’s a beautiful town at any time of the year and the thought of returning from a winter stroll on the beach to cosy up in the luxury of one of Llety Bodfor’s beautifully appointed rooms, looking out at dramatic skies and a dark grey sea has an appeal all of its own. There’s no restaurant as such (although breakfasts majoring on Welsh produce are exceptional) but Llety Bodfor is much more than a B&:B. It seems closer in some ways to a boutique hotel, the owners have a design company and there’s a great little design led shop integrated into the set-up too.
The design of the bedrooms and associated comfort levels are one of the great attractions. Of the eight rooms, four are suites and they include “semi-catering” facilities which does give the option of making yourself a snack or more importantly, keeping a bottle nicely chilled. The downstairs breakfast room doubles as a lounge where a record player (remember them?) is thoughtfully provided along with a pretty decent selection of vinyl to play on it. Who could want more?
